In Obras Escogidas (1994), Kcho constructs a boat using his own Cuban school textbooks, transforming education into a metaphor for movement, escape, and fragile freedom. The work reflects on knowledge as both a formative tool and a constraint, suggesting education as a precarious vehicle capable of carrying the individual beyond the island, while simultaneously revealing the limits imposed by social and political structures. The boat emerges as a symbol of aspiration, displacement, and the desire for transformation.
